Sissi is a picturesque fishing village situated approx 45km east of Heraklion and 25Km West of the harbor town Agios Nilkolaos. When you arrive in Sissi you are immediately drawn to the pretty harbor with all its working fishing boats and fantastic surrounds. Small Bars and Tavernas line the harbor so you can drink your cocktails overlooking what has to be the best sunset in the Mediterranean . What you find in Sissi are hundreds of tourists lining the streets and all the bars competing for who can make the most noise award. Sissi is relaxed and calm making it an ideal location for those wanting to enjoy a chilled out holiday. You will find in Sissi several Tourist Shops selling local olive oil and pottery which make good presents for those of you wishing to take a piece of Sissi home with you. There are also many tavernas which can be found in the centre of Sissi village and along the harbor/sea front, they all serve a variety of Greek and Non Greek dishes as well as being able to have fresh fish caught by the village fishermen that day. Sissi has 2 beaches, a small beach you will find situated by the harbor and Sissi main beach is a 2 minute walk from the centre. Sissi beach has beds and umbrellas as well as a beach bar which offers you a full menu from bar snacks to full meals and all your beverages. Sissi beach is famous for its beach parties which are held on a night each week. uring your stay in Sissi you will feel that you have become part of the family, with the friendly locals giving you a special warm Cretan welcome…. In the village of Sissi you will find just about everything you will need on your holiday.  The village has 2 ATM machines, currency exchange office (as the bank doesnt offer this service) you will find several car and bike rental companies.  The Pharmacy is situated in the centre of the village along with the tourist information office, there is also a Laundrette where you can have your clothes washed and dried. Ironing here is available if required. You will find many Tavernas and a few bars which stay open late at night. There is a taxi service for those of you wanting to head out of the village.  There is also a bus service which runs from the village twice a day.  There are 2 main beaches in Sissi, one is a small man made beach which you will find at the harbour and the other is a larger beach you will find about a 5 minute walk from the centre of the village.  Both have beds and umbrellas.  The larger beach has a beach bar which offers you a full menu of snacks and meals along with all your beverages.
